Hugs and Shoulder Pads.

Hello lovelies! Thank you guys for your comments and words of support regarding my self imposed peanut butter marathon. It means so much to me, you have no idea.

So how am I doing with said challenge? Good, eating pb on the daily. How I'm feeling on the other hand? Well that's a whole separate can of worms. Ironically just last night I dreamt about peanut butter. In the dream I was trying to eat some chunky Barney Butter. Why this is important I don't know, as I've never tasted that brand in my life. Or chunky peanut butter for that matter. Moving on. I kept trying to finish eating but couldn't swallow. The peanut butter was like gluey cement, so thick and sticky that clogged my throat. I was gagging and felt like I was choking to death. So disgusting and unappetizing. I woke up and was not in the mood for breakfast. But in reading this over I see that the dream was about so much more than a spoonful of peanut butter. I'm actually surprised I went the whole day thinking there was nothing deeper. It's amazing what a person can block out or conveniently "forget." I remember there was a girl who had panic attacks at the thought of eating anything white or creamy because of the associations. So sad.

Agh, I'm sorry to be such a Debbie Downer. On a brighter note, remember this sign? Well today I happened to pass that bus stop and look what I saw....

I probably disturbed fellow pedestrians, grinning like a loon while using my phone to take a picture. Definitely was the comedic highlight of my day. Plus I saw quite possibly the sweetest thing ever. There was a baby in a stroller which had a little compartment in the front. And there was a baby pug in the compartment. My description does not do it justice at all, but you'll have to take my word for it. Cuteus maximus. I almost died from an adorableness overdose.

The outfit I'm wearing today makes me feel like Lady Gaga and I don't know why. Maybe because it has huge pockets which flare out at the hips, which remind me of her Gaganess' love of giant shoulder pads

I really don't know.

Oh and I know it's way late but Ayla, the daintiest vegan of all, gave me this fabulous award. So basically I'm supposed to list eight things which also make my day. Here we go....

1.) When the ruby glitter on my converse catch and reflect light, sending red sparkles spraying across the ceiling.

2.) The feeling after stretching when you feel all loose and bendy like a pretzel. They don't call me Gumby for nothing. ;)

3.) Oh I LOVE the sound of horse hooves clip clopping on cobblestones. Definitely one of my favorite parts in any Disney movie.

4.) When Rosie gets excited. Basically anything that dog does makes me happy. But when she gets excited you know it. She snorts and grunts, wriggling back and forth. Her entire being radiates joy. And her tail thwaks from side to side, beating so hard I'm surprised the government doesn't use it as a weapon to fight terrorism.

5.) When an actor wins at some award show and is genuinely touched or thankful. Seeing their excitement makes me so happy for them.

6.) Doodling with pens, the inkier the better. I tend to draw dark and morbid things, but the process of getting it out and creating in general makes me feel so much better.

7.) Making a person laugh or smile. Knowing I brightened someone's day cheers me up as well.

8.) Hugs! I used to flinch and recoil whenever anyone touched me but am now happy to say that not only am I able to give and receive hugs, but they brighten up my day.

"A hug can turn your day around, it's like an emotional Heimlich. Someone puts their arms around you, and they give you a squeeze and all your fear and anxiety comes shooting out of your mouth, and you can breathe again."

-Pushing Daisies

Best quote ever. Anywho, I hope your day went well, and am sending giant bear hugs to each and every one of you.

Fabulous work on the PB challenge...and good on you for not being put off by the dream. Like the poster amendments, the outfit, the witty and eclectic nature of your posts.

First- Thank you so much for your comment! You have no idea how much it brightened my day.
I love the fact that someone posted that on the sign.. standing there feeling like an idiot with your camera whipped out was totally worth it... that picture kicks ass.
Speaking of kicking ass, congratulations on the continuous pb marathon. Are you enjoying the taste? Even despite the chilling dreams, you are doing an amazing job at tackling ED head on, and I couldn't be more impressed :)

  8. Lol I love whoever wrote those things on that sign... that (and seeing a baby pug) would completely make my day.

And you're right... the sound of the horse hooves in Disney movies (or anywhere, for that matter) is a great thing... I had a dog once that would get so happy she would basically wag her whole body from side to side... it was really odd looking, but it's refreshing to see so much joy in something.

  9. I'm so proud of you for eating that peanut butter!! I don't remember the last time I went a day without at LEAST two tablespoons. In my eyes it's so safe, and keeps me energized and satisfied for a good amount of time. How weird is it that someone's fear food can be someone else's safe food? Eventually these food "labels" that we create for ourselves need to be kicked to the curb!

    Good job girl. =]

Have you ever doodled something morbid in a class you hate and then have the teacher come over to collect the sheet...definately NOT been in that situation myself... ;)

  16. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I agree, your outfit is very Lady Gaga...her music is the best, isn't it?!

I used to be the same way about hugs, but thankfully I've also changed. I don't go around hugging strangers, but from friends they're the best!

  17. I love this quote! And I wanted to say that you must be a totally cool person - the things you like in your list are so original. They say a lot about you and when I read them, I always think "oh, that's so nice. Such nice things would never cross my mind when I would think about such a list".

  20. Ahhhhhhmagod. I love your 8 things! I use to be the same way with hugs - didn't want anyone 'cept my mama touching me - but now I've loosened up and for the most parts, I LOVE HUGS! Number 7, 3 and 2 are awesome too! Well, I like everything on your list but those are the ones that stand out to me.

PS. Whoever posted that note is a freaking goddess.

PPS. Kickass outfit. I always wished that I had an ounce of coolness when it comes to fashion but sadly, I don't.

  21. hugs back to you, girlie! Adore you to bits!
Hahahaha at that billboard. It's ridiculously hilarious, because I probably would have put a similar sign up if I had the guts and time.

  22. Good for you for going on with your PB challenge! That takes huge strength. I know what you mean about the dreams though--once while I was refeeding I had the horrible nightmare that my mom and sister tricked me into going to McDonalds by telling me we were going to a dr's appt and then forced me to eat french fries. It's actually pretty funny now that I look back on it.

I love that note on the sign! That's amazing! I think we should just cover all those kinds of signs with notes like that.

Take care and have a great day!
